Annual Spell-a-Thon

March 24, 2021 - Our Millgrove School Community Foundation is planning the annual school spell-a-thon to raise money for our Millgrove School Council.  All money raised will be spent this school year on exciting things such as:

  • Library / Technology
  • Sports equipment
  • Art

Letters are coming home in your child’s agenda today or tomorrow, letters are also linked below for your reference. Each student will be bringing home a list of words, chosen by their teacher, and a pledge form. Each student will then practice their word list and go out and collect pledges for the spell-a-thon. We encourage students to limit their sponsors to family, friends, neighbors, and those known to their family.

Our Timeline:

  • March 24 - Student Spell-a-thon packages given out – students can begin gathering pledges
  • April 9 - Money and pledge forms due – money will be counted and prizes tabulated 
  • April 12-16 - Spelling tests given - teachers choose date & time to administer the tests to their classes, mark the tests and hand them back to the students

Individual prizes will be handed out to the students, based on the amount of money they raised.  The prizes will be handed out once all the money is collected and tallied.  Each child will receive a prize, the more money collected the larger the prize! The class in each grade that raises the most money overall will receive the honor of pieing a staff member in the face!

As the Millgrove School Community Foundation is not a registered charity tax receipts cannot be issued.
